It makes the retarded struggle between HD-DVD and Blu-ray even more pointless.

Blue ray is a disk thats stored inside a plastic case, right? Like UMD?
Well I already fucking hate UMD's. Having taken my PSP/UMDs a few places, if you dont keep them in a protective case, they get dust REAL easy inside. And even when you DO keep them inside a case/box, they still can get dirty easy...

or more to the point, why have two formats when you can have one player? It’d also put manufacturers who are firmly committed to one format or the other in a tight spot: why would you buy a Toshiba HD-DVD player or a Sony Blu-ray player when you could just get a Samsung combo player that can play both?

The only reason they're still fighting over the format is that the media industry said: "We'll go with the one who has better copy protection." and now both parties keep inventing more and more evil stuff - playing right into the hands of the movie industry.
