It makes the retarded struggle between HD-DVD and Blu-ray even more pointless.

Blue ray is a disk thats stored inside a plastic case, right? Like UMD?

Well I already fucking hate UMD's. Having taken my PSP/UMDs a few places, if you dont keep them in a protective case, they get dust REAL easy inside. And even when you DO keep them inside a case/box, they still can get dirty easy...

It’d also put manufacturers who are firmly committed to one format or the other in a tight spot: why would you buy a Toshiba HD-DVD player or a Sony Blu-ray player when you could just get a Samsung combo player that can play both?
or more to the point, why have two formats when you can have one player? :dork:

Only that BetaMax was supposed to be better, which blueray isn't.

The only reason they're still fighting over the format is that the media industry said: "We'll go with the one who has better copy protection." and now both parties keep inventing more and more evil stuff - playing right into the hands of the movie industry.
