Shame they seem to be going towards multi colour strogg again. Leave that with Quake 4...

EDIT: Sorry kids no Mag scans.

Aye. I hope this doesn't fail in the MP, although with the guys behing RtCW:MP behind it, I dont see how it could.

I like class based teamplay more than DM ya see so this is already about 100 points better in my book.

Oh yeah... IT HAS WATER. OMGAH!

I do have to moan about one thing. Why the fuck is one of the negative things they say "maps are only designer for 24-32 players"?

I mean we have all seen the size of the map, I'm sure thats just as much a limit as "Q3DM1 is designed for 2 players". Just because it is, doesn't mean it will be.

Whats BF2 then? 64? I dont really NEED 64 players to have fun.

that wouldnt be hard to do, aye.

ET:QW was always going to leave the turd of a game q4 in the dust (where q4 rightly should be, fkn pos of a game)

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

looks pretty, and while these megatextures are an impressive tech advance they still haven't quite yet mastered the art of making the landscape not look like a plastic model train set prop. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEC MAP EVERY FUCKING SURFACE. IT'S NOT MANDATORY

i'll be even more impressed if they throw in some steep parallax mapping instead of the standard normalmapping

that looks excellent, though I'm as much impressed with the gameplay aspects as I am the graphics.

The automated and dynamic directives for teamplay is a brilliant solution to facilitate teamplay.

I also love the mindset transfer idea, though I can easily imagine that well organized teams will be able to render this less effective (by communication to let on who's been "possessed").

What did they mean by this?
The new physics engine has allowed us to introduce route constraints, such as jumps and avalances"
Also wonder if there are any drawbacks to using the megatexture approach.

"We're looking at 24-32 players as an optimum number for each map"
did you actually read the article? :p

The information about the Mega Texture is pretty remarkable. A 6GB source texture that only uses 8MB video memory... :icon28:
