I do have to moan about one thing. Why the fuck is one of the negative things they say "maps are only designer for 24-32 players"?
I mean we have all seen the size of the map, I'm sure thats just as much a limit as "Q3DM1 is designed for 2 players". Just because it is, doesn't mean it will be.
Whats BF2 then? 64? I dont really NEED 64 players to have fun.

looks pretty, and while these megatextures are an impressive tech advance they still haven't quite yet mastered the art of making the landscape not look like a plastic model train set prop. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEC MAP EVERY FUCKING SURFACE. IT'S NOT MANDATORY
i'll be even more impressed if they throw in some steep parallax mapping instead of the standard normalmapping

that looks excellent, though I'm as much impressed with the gameplay aspects as I am the graphics.
The automated and dynamic directives for teamplay is a brilliant solution to facilitate teamplay.
I also love the mindset transfer idea, though I can easily imagine that well organized teams will be able to render this less effective (by communication to let on who's been "possessed").
What did they mean by this?

Also wonder if there are any drawbacks to using the megatexture approach. The new physics engine has allowed us to introduce route constraints, such as jumps and avalances"

did you actually read the article?"We're looking at 24-32 players as an optimum number for each map"
