Well unlike Kracus, you can actually google it because it was on the news stuff locally. Shock and awe. And since you know me so well, That shouldn't be too hard for you. :)
The problem with that story is that for every one time it works, it doesn't work another dozen times. What if the burglars hadn't left? What if they were armed as well? Would your friend have pulled the trigger? Would he get shot as well? You see, as soon as guns get involved things can only escalate. The alternative? Simple, let those fuckwits take your money, your TV and your laptop. Nobody gets hurt and you can call your insurance to get your moneys back.

Problem is that you Americans believe a gun is a proper shock and awe mechanism yet you fail to realize what happens when that strategy fails.

Problem is, A lot of times when people get robbed, More so around here, They get beat to near death so it was a roll of the dice either way. And yes, I actually think he would of pulled the trigger. Then again, I've been through some shit with the guy and known him 15 years or whatever.

Again, I dont disagree. But the fact Guns are even such a large possible part of the problem, is the problem. Until guns stop being used to such an extreme for violent crime, people wont let go.

So its not "You americans" who dont understand. Some of us "get it" but we're too far gone as a country to really curb it in any kind of quick time frame, and unless you see a massive government intervention or whatever, you're back to square one and people will carry anyways.

So again. You have americans like me, Who carry, Who have done it for years because they have been conditioned to due to life experience + Media. Those same people also wouldnt hate it if we all gave up the guns. Its literally just another thing costing me money.

To be honest once we move to our final destination or whatever I may not re-license. Next move is supposed to be the last anyways, so we'll be picking somewhere safe for sure. :) Plus the lady isnt too fond of them, she does understand why its there and isnt against one herself, She just really dont think she would be able to pull the trigger. But as it stands, All of my current stomping grounds are shitty, I'm licensed everywhere, and its not like it bothers me having it on me. You know, Come to think of it, Why did I jump through hoops in my last 2 moves? I actually lived in really nice areas. Weird. Merica I suppose.

I just dont understand why people dislike the idea of a sane rational responsible adult carrying something to protect himself and others.
Because it isn't sane or rational and it puts you more at risk, rather than protects you?

Poor parenting is deciding to have a child while living in your so called crime infested crack ghetto and thinking that carrying around a loaded gun while you're "caring" for him is the solution.
