I've only ever been in an Asda a handful of times (they're owned by Wal-Mart), but never once have I thought "I really should have brought a gun"
.
There's zero way anyone can defend this.

Beleive it or not. Having a Concealed Carry license is a pretty common thing in states that allow it. I know I dont leave a fucking loaded handgun in the car. Yeah lets have that stolen right? Plus whats the point in Carrying if you dont carry the thing?
Honestly. The mothers an idiot who got shot for not having a safety on, while also allowing a small child to handle her purse with a gun in it. One less idiot.
To be fair, Around here 2 of our Walmarts are in areas I wouldnt want a thin white girl to go traveling through alone. I have no idea what your ASDF or whatever store looks like. I mean we have 2 other walmarts, and both of those are in nice areas of town and are perfectly safe 24 hours a day. But considering shit gets robbed, people get robbed, beat up, raped, murdered, pretty regularly, Having a gun is pretty defend-able to be honest.

If you're in a country where you feel the need to carry a gun then you're a moron and somethings fucked.

Its not really the country. Its mostly the area I currently live to be honest, And its not the whole city. But crime knows no bounds. Thing I never understood was, Even when I'm in places that are safe, Towns that have very little crime, I still carry. Its sort of just part of my morning pocket kit ya know? Wallet, Phone, Keys, Gun.
I don't know man. I carry, I don't think everyone should, And I don't think anyone should have to but thems the breaks right?
Re: 2 year old shoots mother in Walmart. USAUSAUSAUSAUSAUSA
I live in a bad area and tis no excuse, prolly one of the worst in the UK outside the big cities. You should never feel threatened enough to carry a gun. If you're carrying it everywhere then something is seriously wrong, I don't carry knives, knuckle dusters or bats whenever I leave the house cos I don't go out prepared for the off chance of the worst happening, in the same way I don't prepare to get hit by a drunk driver or getting attacked by a stray animal. It's insane.

Yeah everyones life is different. Sadly not everyone has the choice of being in places that feel safe enough without it.
I mean its whatever really. I get both sides of the argument, I just have lived the other side of that life so much that at this point I'd carry regardless if I'm at the country club or in the ghetto. Hell I only know of one situation where someone who legally carried "Saved someones life" or whatever. And it wasnt even something that happened directly to me. Facts are facts though, That one time was worth it for those people. Regardless if I should have to or not, I want to. Why not? I'm responsible, I don't wave it around, I have no kids in my home. So whatever right?
I just dont understand why people dislike the idea of a sane rational responsible adult carrying something to protect himself and others. I get how people like this idiot lady fuck it up for people, and cause others to dislike the idea because of it. But seriously they just need to tighten the license rules up in a lot of states (here is retarded, Hit a target a few times take a written test, done), hell id rather a stranger potentially have my back with a gun thats right next to me right now than a cop thats 10-20 min away.
Maybe I like the idea because it reminds me of when people were less shitty. Because seriously growing up I knew tons of people with guns. It never bothered anybody. Guys literally walking around with guns poking out from under the arm all open carry style. And nobody ever cared about it, they just carried em because they grew up in older times, on farms, etc. It wasnt even for protection from people, it was mostly from animals at night. Ugh.
I could rant about how stupid gun control and guns in general are all day. Like, the normal male in me loves guns and bang bang guns put holes in stuff weeeeeeeee im 5 bang bang woooooo. But like, Stupid people shouldnt play with guns, and stupid people tend to be bad gun owners. And sadly, I know a lot of bad gun owners.

We're talking about a fully developed country, yes ?. Violent crimes happen everywhere, granted some worse than others but it can only be so bad in countries like yours and mine. If it is that bad then I go back to what I said before, in that somethings fucked (with your whole country) and you're a retard for living there.SOAPboy wrote:Yeah everyones life is different. You may be responsible, or consider yourself responsible, just like every lunatic does, right ?. Especially when statisitcs on shit like accidental VS self defense stats and mass shootings n shit are heavily weighted against the right to own guns in self defence. It doesn't come across as very rational and this is without taking into consideration that introducing a gun into the vast majority of situations increases the chances of bad things happening.SOAPboy wrote:I mean its whatever really. Not everyone is sane and rational, having a rule for one section is harsh on everyone else and open to opinion. There is no fucking way on earth I would feel safe with someone and their loaded weapon around me and in yankland ?, I wouldn't trust them with a butter knife.SOAPboy wrote:I just dont understand why people dislike the idea of a sane rational responsible adult carrying something to protect himself and others. So a fashion statement that's now become a little distasteful ?. Carrying a gun farmer style is very different.SOAPboy wrote:Maybe I like the idea because it reminds me of when people were less shitty. Because seriously growing up I knew tons of people with guns. That's kinda the thing, stupid people are everywhere wherever you go and it's these people you're enabling through your laws. I love guns too, I think they're great in a 5 yr old BOOM BOOM BOOM kind of way, shotguns, .50 cals n shit I look at like a muscle car that has bits of engine poking out the bonnet. Good fun but not very practical.SOAPboy wrote:I could rant about how stupid gun control and guns in general are all day. People who never carry with a safety on because "OMG THAT 100TH OF A MILLISECOND IT TOOK TO HIT THE SAFETY ON THE DRAW COULD GET ME KILLED UGH WHY DO YOU THINK I CARRY THIS GUN IN THE FIRST PLACE DUMBASS!" or whatever other super logical reason they think they came up with. Guns guns guns debate guns guns merica guns guns freedom guns guns flags guns obama guns merica
My arguement is against guns ifor self defence in general, restricting a licence for recreational use and limiting guns used (like automatic weps, small arms etc) like in the UK law would be more sane. Just restricting guns for recreational purposes would be a huge step in the right direction for a start, enabling the law in someones hands is bang out of order. Allowing someone to carry a gun on them at all times is murr murr murr.

Other than the Jab at it being a fashion statement? Its all good really. I do wish people understood america and how guns work here though. Its so easy to get a gun, And I don't mean "legal guns". Getting a legal gun takes some work depending where you are and what kind of gun you want etc. Yeah sure most people qualify or whatever and shouldn't but assuming you make that more strict, ok so you solved the legal gun problem. At least bringing "new guns to new owners" anyways.losCHUNK wrote:.

The illegal gun problem is a larger problem in this country. Other than the random mass shooting by some white kid from the burbs with his dads walmart bought AR-15, you rarely see anything on the news about them. And any normal "murders" or whatever involving guns may or may not give the details about it, and may or may not make national coverage so people may never know about it. But oh boy, they heard about that theater shooting!
Thats the tragic part to me. Legally bought guns (Which are a problem in some cases, like who the fuck really needs to own an AR-15? But eh, Merica, Freedom or whatever), Make national news coverage because it was used to pump 100s of rounds into "Insert public location with people here", and killed "Large number of people". But what gets me is the illegally obtained guns, you know, the ones causing the actual large scale number of homicides and shit, get no coverage. Then at that rate not everyone knows about Marrysville Washington had 4000 gun related whatevers that year all involving illegal guns but only had 1 related gun whatever with a legal gun. Then no new shit goes into whatever to stop "Bad people getting legal guns" goes to shit, then "good people get guns stolen" and were back to square one. But you cant just "Ban guns totally" because "America, Freedom, Etc" and the fact theres no way you're disarming some of the people who live here. Theres just some people with more ammo than most platoons go to war with. So good luck. And any gun before whatever year, isnt registered anyways now. So theres this whole grey market for guns.
Seriously, Its a clusterfuck. So as of now, its just easier to carry one. And with how it is, I can do it legally (which I do) and take a bunch of fuck off work. Or I can call a dude, who sells me a hot one for less than a legal one costs anyways, and I dont have to jump through hoops. Then If I shoot anyone, I can toss it after taking prints and shit off of it.
Hint, That last parts the problem.
Re: 2 year old shoots mother in Walmart. USAUSAUSAUSAUSAUSA
It was more tounge in cheek, like calling you a retard. Was more of a jib at the mindset
I get what you're saying and we're gonna end up going around in circles. But I will say that America needs to find a way of tackling the illegal gun problem, they're supposed to be the leaders of the free world and you lot are having the same problems that countries with issues trying to feed their population are coping with. With reguards to legal firearm possession though, I think the situation is still fucked because of what I've mentioned in the chopped up post above ^.
Illegal firearms can be obtained here n all, pretty easily. It's just that no one uses one, wether you're a criminal or not, probaly because they know they'll be doing hard time but that's an assumption, kinda like how the mafia didn;t want to get involved in drug trafficking because of harsh sentences. Could be because they know their victim will be un armed n all and it's not worth getting gun charges slapped on top of whatever they're already getting sent down for
. Homicides ?, why use a gun ?, if your goal is to kill someone then that can be achieved in more ways than one.

losCHUNK, you're forgetting here that American citizens are imbued with a special kind of fear. Delivered not only by the likes of Fox News, but also by their very own government. Americans are a scared people. That's why they carry guns and are so fierce in defending that right.

You keep track of where I've moved and currently reside? Thats pretty cool. And actually yeah believe it or not, Cracks kinda a big deal around here. And it causes a shit ton of problems.
Funny story. 10PM tonight, where I live, In decent Apartments a buddy of mine had 2 guys try and rob him. He told em to back off twice, they didnt. He pulled his gun. They ran.
Walp. Shit must not to bad here huh?
No I'm not the new Kracus. I'm not a pretend coke dealer driving a VW nobody has seen. I just happen to not live in the greatest places all the time. I just dont think carrying a gun is a big deal when done responsibly. And its shitty that its come to feeling like we need one in some places.
Wanted to point out, Since you know me so well. I hope you realize I actually grew up in some really shitty areas. That actually isnt Kansas! Shocking I know. Like I said, Its been part of my kit for years. Even living in nice areas. And some of what Eraser said is right. It wasnt until I got older I got worried and started carrying in the first place.
For what its worth. If guns mostly disappeared from everyone, Cops included, I wouldn't be upset about it. I only go to a range anymore to keep my shit straight. And if I knew any situation would most likely not include guns because of it well yeah. Disarm me at that point for sure.

Hardly. Its actually a really boring event. Unlike gramps and other "Mericans", I don't have some massive gun hardon. 1 is all I ever care to own.
