Doublefine Adventure
Re: Doublefine Adventure
Yeah, very exciting. An old school point and click adventure game by these 2 guys, without any publishers fucking them over and a massive budget? Could be the making of something very special indeed.

It's also made others sit up and tkae notice. As this project raised over a million dollars in just over a day, Obsidian are wondering if they can generate similar good will. An old school isometric RPG from Obsidian would be ace. It seems to be a good way of generating the funds needed to make a game in a genre which the big publishers aren't willing to take risks on any more.

They'd need a seperate kickstarter campaign to finance the bugs they need to fixMat Linnett wrote:It's also made others sit up and tkae notice. Re: Doublefine Adventure
That's the interesting thing though; while most of Obsidian's releases have been buggy, would they have been buggy without a publisher pushing for release?
Re: Doublefine Adventure
Ohhh, four hundred grand. Memph said four grand. Makes more sense now...
Re: Doublefine Adventure

Re: Doublefine Adventure
All I know is most other studios tend to do just fine optimising their games before release. Alpha Protocol and especially FO:NV were not acceptable upon release. Not by a long shot. My fucking dog is still stuck in some interrogation cell in NV somewhereMat Linnett wrote:That's the interesting thing though; while most of Obsidian's releases have been buggy, would they have been buggy without a publisher pushing for release?
Good games mind, just unbelievably sloppy on the QA front.

Re: Doublefine Adventure
This is pleasing news...I do love a good old point and click game. Last really good one I played was Grim Fandango...
