Lost
Re: Lost
Yup, Desmond always had the best episodes. Only just got around to watching this episode, enjoyed it quite a lot. Not quite sure whats going on with Des though now hes "woke up" in both timelines, as the alt Des can clearly see what Charlie did, but the original Desmond is just too different now, its almost like hes ALSO the alt Desmond. In fact at first I thought they had both swapped places he was acting so strange...
Interested to see where this leads, but knowing Lost next week will be an episode with nothing at all in it and be another boring filler episode

Re: Lost
what i like is that desmond is the only one who seems to know about the alternate timeline, while eg jack has no clue theres another jack going about his business.
ofcourse des has gone through this before, when he relived his past with penny.
desmond equals awesome. brisk knows what he's talking about.

Re: Lost
i too liked Juliet and her unpredictable ways and enigmatic smile
I secretly suspect they offed her mostly because she was doing the lead in V and must have had a very busy schedule or something

Re: Lost
Not only did Des survive a blast before, making Widmore want to use him, but also when he did survive, he had this strange ability to flip back and forth between alternate realities.
That may be another reason he was chosen for this -- so he COULD wake everyone up after it was all over. But, as Elloise said, maybe he is just doing it sooner than he was supposed to.
Maybe when original Des gets the hell shocked out of him (coming soon), flipping him into alternate land, that is when flippy Des is supposed to start talking to everybody.
Hell, I guess it's even possible that the show could have the happiest of endings, where not only did the gang get together and save the world, but after it's said and done, they get woken up in their other life, and someone like Des or Daniel lets them know that they all did it, and somehow they get their memories back so they can reconnect with the all the others.

Re: Lost
crazy idea.
everybody got close to a huge blast from the pocket of energy after the nuke exploded, sending them all into a different timeline. des is now made aware of both timelines through the small EMP.
but everybody already experienced an EMP blast before - the end of season2.
what if season 3 - 5 were already an 'alternative' timeline
would fucking suck to deus ex machina like that but the effect the small EMP had on desmond made me think of the effect the nuke had on everybody, which made me think back to the exploding hatch.

it's dumber than a busload of bricks, but somehow defies rationality by being quite entertaining. at least it's the final seasonGONNAFISTYA wrote:Sure. There's lots of shitty shows that I watch. Hell...I even watch Fox News' favorite knee-capper Jack Bauer on 24, even though it's a shitty show. Although I'm pretty sure nobody would have a cry if I pointed out all the dumb things in that program.
and wtf is up with renee walker's 1000yd stare all the time?

Re: Lost
I've noticed that, too. Annie Wersching's character on that one episode of Star Trek also had that same look. I guess it's because both characters are living in a fucked up situation and are asking themselves,"Is life really this retarded?".seremtan wrote:renee walker? yeah she's pretty hot but see previous post re 1000yd stare
At any rate, Annie Wersching is much easier to look at week after week compared to Chloe O'Brian's "I really need a shit" frown. That broad looks like she simply hates life.

Re: Lost
I was thinking something along the lines of smokey being the one coming to Hurley as dead people. Maybe the problem isn't that Smokey is stuck as Jon Locke but stuck as anyone who died. Jacob manipulates through life, Smokey through death.Κracus wrote:So... I think the black smoke monster has just become john locke in the alternate universe and I also suspect john locke on the island is no longer the smoke monster.... should be interesting...
Re: Lost
The end result of which lead to one of the best guards of Jacob dieing, the Black Rock being destroyed, and Jack/Hurley/Sun being delivered straight to Smokey. Its easier to manipulate people if they think they're doing the right thing.
Re: Lost
sounds pretty good to me, bitwise. hadnt thought of that yet
another good ep. i still feel like the entire seasons 4 and 5 couldve been left out, the way theyre tieing stuff up with season 1/2/3 events now.
Even the whispers, which no attention was gives for decades came back. a bit of an anticlimax tho, they were 'finally' explained in like 2 sentences. made it look like the only reason noone understood them was because noone took the time to think about it more than 15 seconds :/
also, a big WHOA when both michael and libby showed up.

Re: Lost
Except it wasn't Michael that told hurley to go talk to smokey it was all hurley's idea. Michael only seemed to think blowing up the plane was a bad idea and that ppl would get hurt.... However, there is a submarine so why so fixated on the airplane?bitWISE wrote:The end result of which lead to one of the best guards of Jacob dieing, the Black Rock being destroyed, and Jack/Hurley/Sun being delivered straight to Smokey. Although you are correct that it's happened before when linus was told to do everything john(aka smokey) tells him to do so you could be right.
BUT I still think smokey is now in the alternate universe and the real john locke is now on the island.

Hmmm that makes quite a bit of sense.bitWISE wrote: I was thinking something along the lines of smokey being the one coming to Hurley as dead people. Maybe the problem isn't that Smokey is stuck as Jon Locke but stuck as anyone who died. Jacob manipulates through life, Smokey through death.

Re: Lost
Nah, Des running over Locke was so that Jack will do surgery on him, making 2 more people meet up and "remember" shit.
