While on the subject too, how reliable are LCD TV's regarding stuck/dead pixels?

I found my LCD was great with HD but not so good with SD.

The plasma is utterly fantastic with both HD and SD. My LCD's did not handle black or darker tones as well as the plasma.

And its up against this:

LG 32LX2R

Hardly the best LCD in the market, though not the worst ;)

Weren't plasmas found to be more susceptible to screen burn-in after a while?

This is my one.

It's all down to personal preference I guess, but I am well happy with it and it's much better for films and TV then the LG LCD was.

Then again, it's more money than the LCD was, so an equivalent priced LCD would be just as good if not better, I suppose.

Either way, HD is the nuts.

that looks mediocre at best
Teevee Of the Year or whatever the fuck it won doesnt mean its the best out there, its usually 'best bang for your buck' kinda deal, ease of use, number of connectors. picture quality is just one of the factors they average out with

I read that, and it is something to consider when buyng one. LCD's are 'safer' but so far I have had no issues or problems with Plasma. Apart than tripping over my jaw when it hits the floor LOL.

Is DLP not worth looking into? I've done a little reading on it, but I'm not sure I like the idea of so many more mechanical parts.

nail - head.

it's my preference to buy a LCD because ALL the plasmas i've seen don't stand up to a LCD of the same price

In the US, Plasmas are considerably cheaper than LCDs. So you can get more bang for your buck, with as good or better picture quality from a Plasma. Besides, I would only be watching TV/Movies on it anway, so gaming use wouldn't matter.

Later this year I plan to replace my 65" projection TV with another big TV. I'd rather have a 60" Plasma than a 50" LCD, probably for less $$$ as well.

Gotcha. Well it's enough to make me shy away from plasma, if I'm going to be dropping that much cash on one.

Is rear projection better than LCD or plasma?
There are LCD rear projection HDTVs, are they better than all LCD?
