where to get the bots & models?
where to get the bots & models?
Hi there everyone,
There used to be a site where I used to pick up goofy bots, skins, etc., like:
clippy(the paperclip)
R2D2
C3P0
Padman
As well as a crapload of others. They were rated, reviewed and available for download.
Does this site still exist? I thought maybe polycount, but if you look at it today, you can see why it would be hard to tell if anything of any value ever resided there.
Any help finding the site would be appreciated, as I've grown tired of Q3's bots, and would like to shoot a paperclip.
thanks,

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.
yeah, Polycount has been under reconstruction for some time now. The only other choices are wading through pages and pages at fileplanet, for skins/models that have no pics of what your about to download. Or http://www.planetquake3.net/. Other than that..not much.

Thanks very much guys
It gets kind of lonely playing the same bots over the course of the years.... I guess I just figured I'd feel better having a paperclip, r2d2 or camper(the tent) kill me than xaero. Somehow it doesn't hurt as bad when they're humorous
thanks,

I am new to Q3A mapping, but I have mapping exp with the HL engine, and the switch-over isnt' going as smoothly as expect. I have a TON of questions to ask, but I'll just do a manageable few if you guys don't mind.
I am going thru the tuts at http://bubba.planetquake.gamespy.com/mapping.html and I am wondering if this is a good source? I am working on the modeling tut there, but I can't find any .md3 files to use. Do I need to unpack the Pak0 file or something to get to the regular .md3s?
Thank you so much for your time, I just don't know how else to get this information.

Some are inside the PK3 files, but most should be installed with Radiant. You need to download the Q3A game-pack for GtkRadiant 1.5.0.
