i have a problem with NEC 3540, doesnt wanna burn CD's or even read CD's but it DOES everything DVD wise..
i wonder if the 3550 has it but i'm not going to find out, i'm getting a liteon next but for now i'm not burning CD's just DVD's anyway.

my NEC 3500 went south in around 7-8 months
NEC 3540 in 6-9 months around there..
both drives had the same problem, cannot do anything with CD's but everything with DVD's works
good think i kept my old creative 5x DVD drive just so i can read CD's
but like i said before, my next drive will be a liteon
EDIT;
this actually makes me wonder if theres anything else wrong with my system that might be causing it, but i doubt it and was very unlucky to get bad batches of the drives themself
