cd burning problems

i get errors when i try to burn anything, i dled freeware programs, but i think thats not the problem

any clue whats happening?

try switching media. und, what sort of errors are you seeing?

considering he's used several different programs i'm willing to bet it's a media problem or his burner is going kaput.

Try burning at a slower speed.
I burn all my DVD's at 4x.

what kind of burner u using ?

i have a problem with NEC 3540, doesnt wanna burn CD's or even read CD's but it DOES everything DVD wise..

i dled alcohol trial version and i managed to burn the cd at lower speed, so its working for now...

and the NEC 3500 same problem

i wonder if the 3550 has it but i'm not going to find out, i'm getting a liteon next but for now i'm not burning CD's just DVD's anyway.

hm, that sucks. i have a couple of NEC's here at work (don't recall the model numbers and i'm too lazy to look), but they've been nothing short of great. :/

Strange stuff with those things. I have had a 5 year old cd-burner but a week ago upgraded to a dvd/cd burner by asus. The dvd burner wouldn't burn with easy cd and dvd creator so i had to use alcohol for it to work. Absolutely nothing changed settingswise. :ninja:

my NEC 3500 went south in around 7-8 months

NEC 3540 in 6-9 months around there..

both drives had the same problem, cannot do anything with CD's but everything with DVD's works

good think i kept my old creative 5x DVD drive just so i can read CD's

but like i said before, my next drive will be a liteon

EDIT;

this actually makes me wonder if theres anything else wrong with my system that might be causing it, but i doubt it and was very unlucky to get bad batches of the drives themself
