If I attempt to play a video file my computer just slooooooows way down. It takes about a minute for it to process my action such as confirming if I want to end the media player that's playing the video . Help would be appreciated, thank you.

specifically wmp, and mpg. I've tried using different video players to play them but still the same results (slow down)

update them or reinstall them
i suggest
k-lite
and
Matroska
i still use both and theyre a yr old i'd say and still play everything i throw at them using wpm10 and quicktime7

I installed K-lite and that didn't help much, should I try installing matroska?
