nice one!SyncError wrote:We have issued a patch for Quake III Arena (as well as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolf:ET). This patch addresses recently discovered exploits and security issues in the game's engine. This patch is fully compatible with the existing 1.32 patches.

Sounds a lot like Unreal Tournament.SSJ3Goku wrote: I, in many ways, think that EF was superior to Q3. Weapon balance, for example.....I also liked alt fire and the colorful maps...and most of all OPEN maps...
Well, in my case, it was only the particular incarnation (Voyager) that kept me away, not Star Trek. I grew up watching TNG and loved it. Voyager was rather disappointing in comparison. I shouldn't have drawn conclusions about EF based solely on that, but I did. However the Star Trek title kept many Q3 fans away.
Yes, when I try to connect to a 1.32b server using the 1.32c quake3.exe on a server with pb it kicks me within about 20 seconds due to memory error. Haven't tried a non pb server yet.dzjepp wrote:werd.^misantropia^ wrote:Also, I'd like to thank iD for having the courtesy to maintain and update a game this old. I, for one, applaud them for it.
SoM said he gets movement problems with the patch though (like the player feels heavy) and someone at esr mentioned pb problems when connecting to a server, but I dunno how valid those things are, I haven't tested.
