Smoothing text on LCDs?

Because the ClearType algorithm actually addresses the sub-pixels. The grc.com guy did the original algorithm and sold it to Microsoft. As I remember how he described it, he was able to turn on/off individual red/green/blue sub-pixels to get even better AA on LCD panels.

well not all crt are created equell.

without doubt the same can be said for lcd.

i prefer lcd now what can i say

the best crt's r better then the best lcd's...u know...i know it....lets not play games...

yea maybe but they so big and hot.

plus after a couple years on they get kinda soft and burn in

that only happens when the game uses windows/ttf fonts. i.e. it wont affect quake3, but it will affect civilization
