I guess that's why it's not your meaning of life anymore.

You probably would have been right if boobs were the meaning of my life. Fortunately for me, they never were.

Ahhh, isn't that sweet. You care about my life. Thanks.

I'm happy to report though, that my boobs are just fine and I'm doing great. You're caring though, has brought new meaning to my life. *hugs*

I answered the question and would have been happy to discuss it. DM has his nuts in a twist about something, but then, what else is new?

Hey I hear you have a "nut-un-twister" built into your forehead. How about I gently place my twisted up nuts there and you go about untwisting them? Great.... Thanks...

Actually it was funny because it was totally unintentional.

"God spoke all these words, saying: I am God your Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, from the place of slavery. Do not have any other gods before Me. Do not represent [such] gods by any carved statue or picture of anything in the heaven above, on the earth below, or in the water below the land. Do not bow down to [such gods] or worship them. I am God your Lord, a God who demands exclusive worship. Where My enemies are concerned, I keep in mind the sin of the fathers for [their] descendants, to the third and fourth [generation]. But for those who love Me and keep My commandments, I show love for thousands [of generations]. Do not take the name of God your Lord in vain. God will not allow the one who takes His name in vain to go unpunished. Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy. You can work during the six weekdays and do all your tasks. But the seventh day is a Sabbath to God your Lord. Do not do anything that constitutes work. [This includes] you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maid, your animal, and the foreigner in your gates. It was during the six weekdays that God made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. God therefore blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Honor your father and mother. You will then live long on the land that God your Lord is giving you. Do not commit murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not testify as a false witness against your neighbor. Do not be envious of your neighbor's house. Do not be envious of your neighbor's wife, his slave, his maid, his ox, his donkey, or anything else that is your neighbor's."
[i]And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command, we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine patris, et fili, et spiritus sancti.[/i]

The meaning of life is to exist. The only two states in this universe are existance and non-existance. Some matter on Earth managed to assemble itself into what we consider life, but in reality everything has a life. Rocks, mountains, rivers, all these things have lives in a certain sense.

Living organisms have more meaning in their lives because they can actively effect their existance (reproduction and self-preservation). Reproduction and self-preservation are trivial for sentient beings, leading us to long for a deeper meaning.

You can look to God, materials, companionship, or emotions, but I believe that our lives have no more meaning than the lives of a rock.

To perpetuate the species.

I think asking for the meaning of life is asking a fundamentally flawed question.
It's a bit like Strangler asking random interpeople for advice on women, when clearly things are just not meant to be that way at all, and the very thought fills people with a terrible fear.

It's a daft question, it should be "what's the purpose of life" otherwise it's like asking "what's the meaning of this beer I'm holding" rather than "what is the purpose of this beer I'm holding" to whit the answer would be "To be drunk by me"...

...anyway I forget what my point was but I like beer.

thats true. meaning" implies that someone put us [life] here for a reason.
instead, we should be wondering what the purpose of life is. nothing really, its kinda selfcontained and selfsupporting innit :)
