Fractals and Fibonacci series

Post by Wabbit »

I didn't realize they had come so far with creating art work using fractals. The samples I had seen had all looked fairly similar. This is a site selling a product but I thought some fo the gallery pics were wallpaper worthy.

This site deals with Fibonacci numbers.

That Fibonacci in Art bit is kind of meh. Most of those architecture and art examples they give have been pretty well refuted.

Photoshop's twirl filter is not a fractal

for most architecture examples it is actually true

dammit I remembered something studying architecture! :smirk:
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command, we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine patris, et fili, et spiritus sancti.

Ray-traced quaternion Julia sets (4D fractals) using the GF7800 GPU:

That page was linked in a thread I made about the Cell processor last December :p:

The acropolis, FUCK.THAT.SHIT. eh?

I love your avatar zewulf.

Also, fractal "art" is far from "art." It's more of a gimmick, like Bob Ross tapes.

Do not blaspheme on Bob Ross. He was a happy little guy who made happy little paintings.

I did my university final year project on fractals and fractal compression. I am the fractal master.

For you idiots, think of fractals as shapes with non-whole dimensions. Instead of 2D or 3D think 2.1242D or 3.73492D.

More like mathematics. The patterns you can create with it are reminiscent of the ones you find in nature. Like when you slice a cabbage in half.
