I started like that but then I had a gf who disagreed so smoking became taboo. After a while I started sneaking a smoke here and there and eventually it was no longer social. I'm not blaming her though, I enjoy it and would have eventually started anyways.

I would typically bum one or two cigs while drinking with friends. When she denied me the ability to casually smoke with friends I started noticing a craving and bought my own pack that I began smoking on my own time. Naturally, having my own pack and the choice to smoke whenever I wanted made me more inclined to do so than before.
That's why I feel she is responsible for me becoming more than a casual smoker. I'm not saying she is to blame for the addiction because that is obviously my fault. I just know that I never had the intention of buying my own cigarettes until I had no other way to smoke.
