your UK right? they are old, probably around 500 or 600mhz, dont pay more than a few 6packs worth - or if they want more, get urself a mini instead if its just for mucking around with. I'd pay about $150aust for one provided it was full of ram and software.

meh, the transition from powerpc to x86 software will take years. Rosetta, the emulation software that will run PowerPC compiled programs on Intel Macs is just bareable for low-CPU-cycles-demanding-software like wordprocessors.Massive Quasars wrote:Don't touch a mac until they've gone to Intel.
I've become a Mac fanboy since i got a powerbook + OS X this year

Same reason I filled up my RAM slots... PPC Macs aren't going away anytime soon, especially when you use them as a tool that does the job. Intel Macs aren't going to be leaps and bounds better overnight or even in a couple of yearssaturn wrote:meh, the transition from powerpc to x86 software will take years. Hmmm.....might fill up my 12" powerbook with mem then. Got 768 mb that does the job, wonder what mem I should get then.Dave wrote:Same reason I filled up my RAM slots...
