7 inches and counting

Post by tnf »

Of snow so far today...dare I say snow day tomorrow? Damn, I 've probably jinxed it now.

Actually it takes about 2 feet of snow for us to cancel because so many of our students have nowhere else to go during the day if school is closed...no food, no shelter.

lucky SOB. it's cold enough to snow here tonight but chances are if it started to precipitate things would start warming up and quickly turn to rain. i could really go for a snow day too. only takes like half an inch or so to close everything down where i live.

It's been snowing the past couple of days here too. On Monday we had the first day of snow-induced traffic chaos of the season. People never, ever learn - it's the same thing every year. One would assume that people are aware that this time of year snow does occationally fall and make things difficault on the roads, with us being this close to the polar cirlce and all, but nooo.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

It snowed a lot here over Thanksgiving. Then it all melted, it rained for two days, froze, and yesterday it snowed again. Marvelous.
I finally broke down and put the snow tires on my car.

I don't understand, how come many of those students have no shelter? Since when do the homeless go to school?

Probably since there have been homeless kids.

We've had kids that are homeless .

And school is a safe place for kids during the day, and we have plenty of them who get their breakfast and lunch free at school. no school, no food. that's a reality.

We have about 3- 4 inches on the ground. Now it's just really cold and everything is turning into black ice heh.
