Sony's Walkman returns
It doesn't scream "design classic" in the same way as the iPod though.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:This would be a better product if it had AM/FM, built in mic/direct recording, and a lower price point.
There's no way Sony are ever going to go for direct recording, 'cos as far as they're concerned, that's tantamount to piracy. I thnk they've covered radio in their bean or whatever it's called.
AAC's a good format for low bitrate files, but I agree it's fairly pointless to try to get too much quality out of it. Lossless codec files are a bit tough to fit on an MP3 player, though; I have Lullabies to Paralyze in apple lossless format on my iPod and it sounds great, but skips near the end of the longest track.

i agree that .aac is nice at LOW bitrates (<128kbps), but you're tied to using just a handful of players.Geebs wrote:It doesn't scream "design classic" in the same way as the iPod though.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:This would be a better product if it had AM/FM, built in mic/direct recording, and a lower price point.
