I put them on a gradient of what I interpret as musical art, and hopefully you see what I said as my opinion. In the context of the discussion on censorship I gave my views on it, which you blatantly attacked with quite an unwarranted racist accusation.

Anyway, I think it's a great idea. The legislation is basically a statement that says parents should be responsible for deciding what their kids can have, when it comes to questionable content.

Of course there are irresponsible parents out there, but that's beside the point. It's not the government's place to rule on the judgement of parents when it comes to their kids -- but it is their place to keep businesses from pushing questionable materials on kids when their parents don't want them to have it.

It's a statement about our culture when this gets made out to be an issue of 'punishing retail companies.' And when someone makes it out to be an issue of 'depriving' kids of something they want, it's a sign of our society of spoiled rotten kids.

I was just referring to the fact that a lot of rock cds might throw a curse word or two into a song and it gets a parental advisory. I think these types of CDs should have a "Brief Language" lable under that advisory. A lot of rap CDs are extremely sexual and contain copius amounts of curse words. These CDs could have "Sexual Content" and "Strong Language" labels.

Look...kids want their parents to buy shit. They see something in a store and they ask for it. Parents don't have time to go out and download every song illegally or hunt down the lyrics or buy the CD without being able to return it. I think it would be really helpful to rate CDs the way we rate movies so that a parent in a store can look at the case and say "no this CD is very violent and sexual, I don't want you listening to it".

I was always taught the difference between Real and fake and therefore my parents never had any problem with me watching violent, scary or thought provoking movies........

I think that if you teach a child this is the movies or a game or a song and not a true reflection of real life then you dont have a problem. On the flip side you bar a child from seeing any of the afformentioned and they become inquisitive almost as if there is something to hide.

I remember seeing jaws and nightmare on elm street when I was about 8 or 9 years old. Scared the crap out of me but I knew if was only a movie. Same with Games I remember blasting the shit out of Wireframe Tie-fighters and the ilk

Doesnt mean I wanna go and shoot things or scare people.
