Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone (opiate) and acetaminophen.
There are varying formulations - for example, if you look at a bottle of vicodin it might say
Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5/500
In that case, you have 5 mg of hydrocodone (vicodin) and 500 mg of tylenol.
The strongest tablet hydrocodone is a 10 mg strength. You can get varying levels of acetaminophen
I think the most acetaminophen you can get is 650 mg.
I don't know that any of the major manufacturer's make tablets without any acetaminophen - in fact I am sure of it because my doc looked it years ago when trying to figure out how to balance pain management for my neck with minimal impact on my kidneys.
Oxycodone (percocet, oxycontin, roxicodone, etc.) is available with no acetaminophen in it.
