saw hitchhikers guide the other day. i hope to fuck no one makes a snowcrash movie.
I saw that with an English girl.. She loved it. Her dad apparently hated it, but I think it was well done. I thought she made a good benchmark for how good/bad the movie was... like taking a canary into a mine. The problem is that people become invested in reading the book. If it takes two hours to show on film what it took you a week to read, you're always going to be let down if you're going to be a fucking baby about it.

i didn't offer an opinion on it, but thinking of it reminded me that adaptions are bloody difficult things to do.

considering the size and scope of snowcrash, the story and the way the characters are developed, i can't imagine a movie based on it being any good. it's one of my favourite books, so i'd selfishly like to keep my memories of it untainted by the image of whoever's cast as hiro or how the metaverse is presented.

You seemed to be suggesting that after seeing Hitchhikers's guide and hating it, you hoped that the same would not happen to Snow Crash

hitchhikers made me laugh and the casting was pretty good, but it didn't handle the adaption very well at all. snowcrash would be a lot tougher.

good troll btw, blundered straight into it.
