ofcourse, what we should also consider is that any new engine will have to be checked out before crunching out the best poosible media. i mean, look at the diff between Tekken1 and Tekken3 on PS1, or Halo and Halo2 on Xbox.

It was a big difference. Try playing halo 2 for an hour, then halo 1. It looks so much more different.
However, nicer looking or not, give me back my assault rifle...

they stated on the making of dvd that that was a prerendered movie to show the audience what they -wanted- to do in halo2. unfortunately, they werent able to pull that off due to both hardware difficulties and timeconstraints.
it was in the context of "stuff that never made it into the game"
