E3 2005: 360 Running at One-Third Power

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/615/615667p1.html

ofcourse, what we should also consider is that any new engine will have to be checked out before crunching out the best poosible media. i mean, look at the diff between Tekken1 and Tekken3 on PS1, or Halo and Halo2 on Xbox.
if it looks this good now, what will it look like in 2 years :o

you guys must be on crack then.
halo1 looked really flat compared to 2, most notably the MCs and Elite's armors.

anyways, thats all beside the point :p take tekken1 and 3 then as example :A

There was jim. There was a shit load going on.

However, there would of been even more going on if they stuck with the engine they showed off ages ago... Fully ppl? Please.

whoa there - how about Halo not having bumpmaps and Halo2 having it all over the place? and higher poly models? and higher res textures in general?

I'd say it was one helluva difference

It was a big difference. Try playing halo 2 for an hour, then halo 1. It looks so much more different.

However, nicer looking or not, give me back my assault rifle...

you mean that clip with the MC flying off into space with the bomb (like how it happens in the game) ?

they stated on the making of dvd that that was a prerendered movie to show the audience what they -wanted- to do in halo2. unfortunately, they werent able to pull that off due to both hardware difficulties and timeconstraints.
it was in the context of "stuff that never made it into the game"

or so the making of dvd says :)

Yeah, um, that doesn't really do much for defense, does it?

Yeah, the gmae should of been fully PPL but it would of killed the x-box...

Anyways...

Halo 2 was a LOT more advanced than 1. Not the game, the tech. End of story.
