I see his point and admire his persistence. But this won't do a damn thing to change policy. He's going about it the wrong way...

It's a pretty good idea to be honest, and a good way to get noticed (and all your future films banned by the person who had to sit through the paint drying one).

I can see it becoming a cult classic.

of course, the BBFC person could just flick through the keyframes, see that they're all the same, and have it done and dusted in 10 minutes

won't make a difference though; they're going after the wrong people

They should get Tyler Durden to edit it before it's sent off.

I guess his primary goal is raising awareness.

Wouldn't be surprised if the BBFC is actually legally obliged to sit through the whole thing. Whether that actually happens is another thing, but imagine the shitstorm if it turned out that, as Mazda pointed out, after 4 and a half hours, the paint magically transformed into 15 frames of porn video and the BBFC missed that, especially with this movie.

so don't ever give money to a cancer charity since your measly donation will cure exactly zero cancer

strong logic

Uh what? We're talking about the total sum of 5 thousand UK pound. Not about a donation of 5 thousand UK pound that is part of a larger whole of donated money.

To cut to the chase though, you probably think of this project as a waste of money and think the money would've been better spend on cancer research. That may very well be the case, but different people enjoy different things and the man is making a point. Can't blame him for that.

Well, in the UK you'd just be 5k richer, or dead.

Bit of a knife edge really.
