I feel like the user-friendliness probably limits the options for geometry creation (brushwork can do anything, this probably can create many permutations of the lego pieces that the tool ships with, only)... Hmn. I've never heard of Shadow_86, but clearly this Quake2World thing bears investigation...

Nice to see lots of nice work still going on in here. Maybe I oughta fire up Radiant again myself one of these days. I kinda miss id Tech.

edit: Setting the near value to cull 'roofs and ceilings' took some time, but generates good results.

Render Textures in Grid?

Anybody know offhand of a tool that lets you take a top-down, NOT perspective render of a quake 3 level? Ideally from a .map file, but from a compiled map would be fine, too..

Hmn. Not sure how I missed this .. but things have been busy. I played Quake 4 for the first time in about ten months the other night.. and man, is my aim bad. Odium is right about selfshadow, although I think in Q4 that has to be done via the material/shader. Id tech having 'unified' lighting for D3/Q4 does limit a little bit of what you can do by today's standards. It looks like they're addressing this with Id Tech 5 (Rage Engine), but in the meantime, you can turn shadows off on some assets so they don't cast on themselves, which prevents a lot of ugly...
