Is it possible to hook your ipod up to another person's computer and dl all of their music? I'm under the impression right now that my ipod can only sync with one computer (ie: my own pc). If I sync my ipod with another pc I'm pretty sure it will wipe all of my tunes off my ipod, which I obviously don't want to happen. Lil help?

OMG SERIOUS!? That's ass... All other mp3 players I've ever seen act as a removable disk..

By default your iPod allows you to connect to 3 other PCs before it locks it out. I was able to sync up my brother's iPod to my collection successfully.

Also, prior to connecting your iPod to someone else's machine you need to turn off auto sync and set it to Manual so you can select which directories/files/songs you want to sync up.

I hooked my ipod up to my gf's laptop last night and it asked if I wanted to sync with her pc. We said no and after that it wouldn't let me copy songs from her laptop to my ipod. So, if I say "yes" to the sync it won't erase all of my music?

Be sure to stay updated on the latest iPod software and the latest iTunes. I find that when I do see other people's iPod's their shit is never updated and it can cause conflicts. There's a reason they update the ROM's on iPod's because they have feature additions/bug fixes so it's important to stay on the latest and greatest.

I'm fairly technologically inept and I must say I find this ipod a confusing piece of hardware.
