Hammocks: Bad for your back, good for your soul.

Post by rep »

I'm thinking of buying a hammock. I don't plan on sleeping in it, but I do fancy an afternoon swinging in one with a good book to combat the atrophy of being around modern convenience and technologies.

Does anyone know of a high quality hammock that is less harmful to the spine than others, or does the damage happen to folks who sleep in them for years, and I've nothing to worry about? What's more, what have you all been reading lately?

Uncanny. I got a letter through the post today from Homebase telling me my hammock was being recalled due to the beams splitting over time.. I've been offered a full refund, but I'm gutted because it was the comfiest thing I've ever laid on.

Image

That's the exact one. On hot nights me and my girlfriend have slept on it with no covers and it's comfier than a bed. All hammocks are the same as long as they're pretty loose, and you're able to rock them.

You're going to lie in a hammock to combat the atrophy of sitting at your desk? What a well thought out plan.

Mental symptosis is just as significant as physical atrophy.

Who wants to work at a computer, party around idiots with cellular phones, hang out with people who play video games and watch DVDs?

Technology is shit. Give me a hammock, some shade, the sound of birds, and a book or three.

lol, no kidding.

At any rate, if you really want a good hammock, go pick up a copy of the SAS Survival Handbook, and make one yourself.

ROFL, I wasn't 'here'. I was posting from work via VNC, and then I was out and about until just now.

Now I'm 'here', newb.

I'm 'here' now, but the other day i got stoned as a motherfucker and was on the internet -- definately not 'here', but still 'here'. in the morning i was in the same place, but actually 'here'. trippy, huh!

I also like the fact that although technology is so shit, you set up VNC and utilised it so you could post on an INTERNET FORUM from SOMEWHERE ELSE. why not just wait the extra couple of hours and post later?

It sounds interesting, but we're many decades away from any meaningful information about nanotechnology. Reading that is probably interesting, but the material is undoubtedly similar to books about the Internet written in the 1950s, where instant messaging may have been described as a printed system with no visual display, or something equally primitive.

Typography: Macro- and Microaesthetics is incredible.

Yeah, heaven forbid I waste thirty minutes, give or take five, here and there. What else would I do, make a video about how sore DiscoDave must be at rep for running his world?
