Weird fact but is it true? Australia friends.

Good evening my friends

Australian brothers

Just a weird topic but as I was flushing the toilet before…
I remembered I saw an article that say that the flow in the toilet bowl
go counter wise, in north America it is clockwise.
Is it true or just a joke?

The simple answer, pete, is no. The way a sink drains is determined by things like the shape of the sink/toilet, how the water flows from the faucet, etc.
The force of the Earth's rotation CAN determine how water will drain, but it's such a small effect that it won't overcome other forces.

EDIT: btw, that force is called the Coriolis force. You'd have to have a perfectly symetrical and still basin of water to negate any other variables that affect the flow.

Thanks for the link.
I've read it for 5 mnts but I am not sure yet.
Who can we trust now? A clock wise draining toilet savant or a counter wise one?

I'm gonna throw that in my friend's face.

She said she saw a documentary where they tested the flow of water 100 meter above and below the equator and that the water flowed differentely and the short distance over the equator...

yes he did...

he finished his thought

and i am continually suprised by the number of folks who still think that the toilets flush the opposite direction. students ask that all the time, then argue with me when i tell them that they don't.

kind of like the idea that you can balance an egg on its end on the equinox.

OKAY, THE EXPERIMENT WAS A COMPLETE FAILURE.

The toilet didn't flow in either direction (water came down from either side of the mid-section, so it clashed on the middle of the opposite side, and didn't really seem to flow either way.

The sink, once the plug was removed, kinda just flowed right down, except nearing the end when it seemed to flow in an anti-clockwise direction but it was pretty inconclusive.

What would happen if you flushed a toilet in the center of the Earth?

Nothing, dipshit. It'd be crushed by the tremendous pressure and decimated by the heat.

So exactly 1/10 of the toilet would be killed by the heat?

Thanks for the experiment.
Want to try again tonight? It wasn't a complete failure.
Edison has discover just over 14000 ways that a light bulb won't work.
Btw How is it in Australia?

Good evening my friend.
You are our best witness in here since you live in australia.
We've read all types of replies with some links even.
Could you give us a clear view on what you observe when flushing or in the sink?
Thanks
Pete

Thanks for you invitation my friend.
I will PM you whenever before I go.
Thanks again for your cooperation in finding the real answer to my question.
PS, to all my friends who have replied in here already with your observations, links and all...Big thanks. I would just like an observation from one of our friends who live there.
I mean, we cannot get more precision than this...
