Not sure really. Cheaters can't do shit in a proper LAN tournament, but spammers is hard to stop no matter what. Though there are some smart filters turning up which take a big load of users.

Cheaters who swear they're legit when they obviously aren't. I don't hate them, but they can be annoying.

Cheaters are easy to beat. If you have solid movement and a few corners to hide behind, even the most experienced OGC user is easily defeated.

Sometimes you don't even need that. I remember back in Quake 3, people with bots could never hit above 45% LG stats, probably because the bot doesn't try to lead ahead. If you went face to face with an OGCer, LG vs. LG you'd probably win unless they puss out and rail you twice. That's the only thing you have to be cautious of with bots. Watch for the desperation weapon switch.

A human can beat a bot every time.

he's a pro... he just can't remember what name, what server, what his GUID is, doesn't have a screenshot from an actual game, and for some odd reason won't go back to Rogan's with his 3X ping that he destroy's everyone with to show his l33t 40lg, 75% rox and 30% nades.

Oh and on top of all that, he thinks he's a pro at network terminology and can't figure out why he download's slow but pings fast. (Laugh)

That about sums rep up in a nutshell.

And his posts all get moved to RNR because nobody can stand him and he spends 90% of his l33t time replying to people like me who make him look stupid.

That's the guy who said LG accuracy can't get above 40%, when I got that when I used a joystick. :lol: It's not that I don't remember what aliases I used in that game, it's that I didn't want stalkers like him harassing me all the time.

and i got 110% overall accuracy over 12 consecutive games against cooller, fatal1ty, unk1nd, and zero4 before my prosthetic arms came in the mail.

You've never played on the q3w server that anybody knows about, and you've never posted a meaningful screenshot, so just fuck off until you can or do. Boasting is meaningless if you don't back it up with proof (69rx comedy aside).

Actually, Doomer saw me play one time and he didn't want to 1v1 me after seeing my lightning. Then he cried about pad camping and signed off. I'll reinstall it sometime and record a few demos.

Nomatter what, people will just call me a bot. So if you see me play you'll no longer have the, "I haven't seen you play." Crap to fall back on, you'll just call me a bot. That's what used to happen when people challenged me. I'd end up playing them after they said they'd own me, and they'd sign off before the end of 21 rounds because in their world I'm some master hacker with hacked weapons that can shoot through walls and anything else their mind could conjure up.

That's an interesting point. When we discussed this years ago, I don't think I said I was the best or, "Leet." I probably said I'm better, though. Viruseater was a part of the [X-D] clan in rocket arena. At the time, when Rocket Arena 3 was popular, west coast 1v1 and 2v2 players were the best, west and east coast clans were pretty much tied in skill (Although it was later revealed that all of the top east clans were heavy on the bots and wallhacks. Most of them retired when punkbuster was finally introduced into RA3, but came back later when their friends told them PB basically doesn't block anything except public bots because it's a piece of shit.) and central was well, newbies.

That doesn't mean they weren't nice people. They liked to LAN and could take a loss without crying about it. West clans would cry bloody murder if you beat them, even if you totally outclassed them and you didn't give them a single round.

I never clanned or did any of that nerdy shit, but I was a part of the #1 CAL west clan as a sub. None of their players could beat me in 1v1, so I was basically the best of the best, if you want to quote me talking like I'm the best thing since sliced bread. In fact, I retired from that game after a series of 21 round matches with the top actual member of that clan, which I won all but 6 rounds and my final kill was a combination of a midair rocket to a weak grenade hit that made him overbounce into my gauntlet. This is a player that averages a 50% LG, 72% rail... Stats OSP players can only dream of. There was no turning back, the kill was so funny that's how I wanted to go out. Lots of clans would ask me to join them, but I didn't want to run mIRC all the time and since matches and scrims were always on a Friday or Saturday night that was pretty much out unless the rare opportunity came that a match was held off until a week night.

I suppose the real anger towards me came when I talked about my match against Zero4 a day after I bought Quake 3 Arena at a battletop event in 2000. I was a Q2 player, and while I had played Q3 since Q3Test, I was unfamiliar with the maps I played John on... Which turned out to be his absolute all time favorite maps, 13 and tourney4. :lol: I had 12 to 15 frames per second on my ATi 8MB video card (lol) with default controls and video... John, who was sitting next to me, had a 'leet' config, of course. If I played him in a game where all weapons are given to you at start up (In other words, AIM vs. AIM, like Rocket Arena or 3Wave) I'd win. I don't know about DM, where the real skill is in timing when to camp the RA and MH. :lol: If I got my mits on the LG or rail, he'd lose.

Then again, I liked the feel of 33ms or 62ms ping much much more than the feel of 0ms LAN ping.

I still remember watching Zero4 get trashed in RA3 wayyy back. It just goes to show you what happens when you take someone's tricks away from them.

You can be the best timer newb on the planet, but if you don't have aim it won't matter. Rocket Arena proves this... Hell, I believe a few years ago one of the worst central clans, k4h (They're seriously bad.) whooped clan kapitol, OSP newbs, at QuakeCon.

Je suis un Canadien aussi. J'ai appris le francais au l'ecole. Francais n'est pas un langue difficile. Les langues asiatiques comme japonais et le Chinois sont difficile. Je n'ai pas pris les classe de francais depuis Dixieme Annee en l'ecole, et maintenant je doit prendre un nouveau classe en francais pour ma degree d'universite en journalisme.
