Edit: What a load of horse shit. PS3 graphics are not next-gen. PS3 looks as if it can only handle Xbox graphics.

Don't waste bandwidth by downloading the video. It's so unimpressive that instead of laughing at it, I actually felt bad... Especially disheartening is that this demonstration bears the SCEA name, and a notice that the clip is comprised entirely of in game footage, as if it's something to be proud of.

This generation of consoles has but one hope, the Nintendo Revolution. As Xbox was known as the "Halo TV Adapter", XBox360 will be known as the, "Gears Of War Adapter." PS3 is trash. People aren't interested in the Final Fantasy series, or any of the fighters that established the PlayStation and PlayStation 2. All they have going for them are the idiots who will buy whatever the next wrestling and grand theft shock factor (yawn) games are.

PS3: PS2 with normal and specular maps.
Xbox360: Slightly higher polycounts, but certainly not a rung above current generation.
Revolution: Nobody knows.

Can't exactly say I was impressed.
-No accurate representation of the Gameplay
-Graphics we've seen before
-Riding on the 'dramatic' music to make it seem more appealing

the trailer was rubbish.

I love when they show "In game footage" and show what surely appears to be cut scenes. If it is in-game, then the game appears to suck a lot -- being nothing but dramatic fly-bys of a dragon in throes. That sounds like just the sort of game I'd want to play.

Now that i've seen the video... Damn that be some ugly shit. Its another case of "Hey we added a new effect lets use it on everything!!!". God damn specular, the point is that you use it lightly, not on everything... Plus the animation was awful, worse than Doom 3 which should be the standard (30 frames, cgi style) on next gen stuff.

bleh, looks just like a Futuremark 3DMark timedemo with overused specular effects. Come to think about it - it reminds me of that HL2 movie of the "wet" Ant-lion on the rooftops that everyone was oohing and aahing about a year and a half ago.

I have yet to see some real gameplay from the PS3, everything's just cutscenes and pre-rendered shit. Fucking marketing crap just to give the fanbois a boner.

i do agree that it isent the MOST impressive thing to be seen.. but you need to look in retrospect, computers today can do this kind of thing with little to no issues, but to see a Home Console having this power is more impressive..

also, i feel that it isent pre-rendered because when the Dragon Swoops down, there is some slow down due to loading/rendering of the scene. ( something that is to be expected )

the think that i admire in reguards to Sony is what they can do with a Console that dosent pack to much of a punch hardware wise.

take PS2 for example, its a 333Mhz Proc'd Console that dosent have basically anything else going for it, yet it can do things like GT4 and Etc.. Wile a 733Mhz Proc's console ( Xbox ) is only able to keep remotly close to it with something like forza with that much Access power..

personally, i look at it in these reguards..

Microwank: Pure Hardware Brute Force.. Tons of power, a fair Graphic's card. etc..

Sony: Pure Feness, from tweaking the games for fluent gameplay ( Reguardless of loading times ) and smooth Graphic's.

( and btw, this is not a comparason Of GT4 and Forza.. i was using them as an example.. )

I'm sad to say it, but I have to *gasp* agree with rep and o'dium on this one.

Sony is not exactly known for their straight-up marketing tactics. It' takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to get the hype machine going.

I have yet to see something real from the PS3. "In game" in this case still means cutscenes, and that means exactly shit when it comes to real gameplay.
