Ways to stop overeating (my method)
Getting back on the health horse, since I started dating my wife 2 years ago, I pretty much stopped going to the gym. I made a few feeble attempts to start up again and just flopped. Realizing it's impossible to go after work due to all the things I need to get done at night I started going before work. This is working out great, I start the day with a ton of energy and it just keeps on going all day long.
This time around instead of going for insane strength like I always do I am dropping my workouts to High reps lower weigh, I think I want to cut some size off my arms and chest, and go for a leaner meaner look.
One of my problems like any guy is I have the power to just keep on eating. I can over eat by 2 if not 3 extra servings. I'm relatively active so I don't beef up too much, just can't loose the few remaining pounds around the middle. So I’ve tried an unorthodox method to stop myself from eating more than one healthy serving.
Familiarize yourself with the uncomfortable felling of an over full stomach, remember it… then when it’s time for seconds take a moment to reflect on how it feels. When ordering lunch I also do the same and usually split my lunch over the course of 2 days.
Getting my mind familiar with the gut wrenching hours of agony was the easy part. I ordered a 10 pack of White Castle Cheese Burgers, Fries and onion rings, topped off with a nice heavy creamy Latte. All consumed in less than 15 minutes. It took some forcing to get it down but the following 24 hours was all I needed to assist in my quest to “just say NO” to second and third servings.

you're supposed to eat until satisfied, not full. i eat 6 small meals a day to help speed up my metabolism.bitWISE wrote:That would have no effect on me. I eat non-stop and never feel full. The only time I ever feel full is when I go out for pizza and down a large.
I just need to become more active like I used to be. The most active thing I do during a normal day is walk to or from my car.
If I'm eating something I like I will hit full long before satisfied comes to mind.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:you're supposed to eat until satisfied, not full. i eat 6 small meals a day to help speed up my metabolism.bitWISE wrote:That would have no effect on me. I'm also doing that in addidtion to consuming my usual 4 liters of water. 2 of my "in between" meals are usually Whey Protein shakes.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:

the problem is, it takes 10-15 minutes for your body to recognize that you have been satiated. Therefor, you can be full, think your not, and keep eating untill your STUFFED.you're supposed to eat until satisfied, not full.
The trick is to eat slowly, and wait a few minutes between servings. And drink lots of water while you eat, so you fill up quicker.
Eating healthy doesnt hurt either.

eating slowly is basic. everyone knows it's better, they just tend to shovel.StormShadow wrote:the problem is, it takes 10-15 minutes for your body to recognize that you have been satiated. Drinking lots of water while your eating isn't neccessarily a good thing according to this nutritionist I was having fun with. She told me that drinking while eating dilutes the acids in your stomach making it more difficult to digest and a longer process. I don't know whether or not this was true but it does seem to make a little sense. Any doctors heard of this before? She recommended only to drink after eating a half hour to an hour later. She was pretty steadfast about it too she never drank while she ate.
