Its a cyst and they can get rid of it for you.

it's called a bone spur. It's made up of cartiledge. When I asked my doctor about the one I have she said to slam a book down on it and break it.

I've had a small thing like that on the top knuckle of my middle finger for a few years. It actually hurts on occasion. I really need to find myself a new doctor and start going again.

It looks like a cyst to me, simple operation to remove it, they just give you a local and take it out of there. They have to take it out whole, if they leave any little piece of it in there, it'll come back.

The trick is to start the book slamming with little thin books, and then work your way to the big heavy ones.
