Hiding the sites i've been on

Post by Doombrain »

Anyone have that website where you put the web address in and it piggy backs you to the site so web admins can't tell what you've been looking at?

Might be... I can't visit those types of sites from work so I can't check.

Odds are if they have any sort of firewall up, they will have the common anonymizers blocked.

You can get software to setup a bouncer on your home machine: so it just looks like you're connecting to your home IP and that then relays the traffic. Probably faster than the anonymiser things too.

you could easily do what i've done, and run a program like PHPProxy on your own webserver (that they most likely haven't blocked yet) and it has the same functionality (better, actually, since it should be hopefully faster because you're the only one using it, and there's no limits to it)

I have it setup on my server, lemmie know if you want the link and i'll PM it to you

It will let you get past proxies at work, but it won't prevent the admins from seeing what site(s) you're visiting, because the site you're trying to visit is added in to the URL anyway.

with the PHPproxy i've got installed it encodes the url, so they can't see shit :) (unless they go through the time+effort to decode it, but i doubt they would bother)
