He was described as a “lone wolf” with no known links to terrorist organizations.
White, therefore not a terrorist attack.

The sound clips I heard from it, sounded like automatic gunfire. Like shooting fish in a barrel :(

Apparently, gunman was on the 30th floor, broke the window and started shooting down on people. :(

That's so fucked up...
Nevada has some of the least stringent gun laws in the United States.
People are allowed to carry weapons and do not have to register themselves as a gun-owner.
Background checks are done when people buy guns, but they are also allowed to sell them privately.

Fuck me, i've been following this all day and it keeps getting worse. How was he allowed to sustain an attack like this? He had 6-7 long range weapons? The only other places on earth this happens are places like the Congo...

not an attack on civilians for the purpose of changing government policy, therefore not a terrorist attack

race or links to organisations have nothing to do with it

Yeah, I have to agree. Whether or not the attack is labeled a terrorist act or not all depends on the motive...

uh, what?

whether or not it's labelled a terrorist act depends on whether or not the person doing the labelling knows the meaning of the word terrorism
The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
if this Oswald wannabee had political aims, we've yet to hear about them

So it depends on his motive and if it had political aims ? :)

Political aims aren't a motive?

Well, that one guy shooting up a BLM protest and injuring 5 people (who were later treated as perps, and the shooter like a victim until it was later proven he was there explicitly to shoot 'black guys'), that's terrorism. Running over protesters is terrorism. The Drug War, considering it's origin, how it was constructed, and the motives that most people aren't aware of, can be argued as terrorism.

A mass shooting isn't really terrorism, because that would change the way that it should be dealt with, most likely meaning a global restriction on a wide array of freedoms.

We really need to be careful what we call terrorism.

What I'm saying is that wouldn't even happen. You'd probably get stupid rule changes that mostly apply to areas where individual, personal mass shootings take place because of heavy prohibition enforcement, and not to areas where the people who lobby the government actually have massive stockpiles of guns that can kill hundreds of people.

If you start calling this terrorism, it will A: Exacerbate instances where this happens, and B: Drive shootings in places like Chicago to be classified as "terrorism" when they have absolutely nothing to do with politics, and are mostly driven by a complete lack of jobs thanks to automation and out sourcing, and the Drug War, which allows mediocre government officials to manufacture crime out of poverty.

The only way they could be terrorism is if, say, a bunch of people from one group went somewhere a bunch of people from another group were just to shoot them so that they would no longer show up in public or do things as a community, which is why I mentioned the Drug War as terrorism, and not, say, Columbine.
