Is there a more torturous activity in this world? If so I'm not aware of it.

Christmas is mostly a family affair here, think long dinners and akward conversations with relatives you see once a year and so on. We don't really do the whole gifts thing, there's another holiday for that (which is eerily similar actually, but that's another story). In any case, yes. Shopping for the holidays with a womancreature is godfuckingafwul, mine spent about thrice what was agreed upon this year, and it took fucking days. DAYS.

The family bullshit gets on my tits even more than the shopping though. Piss off with your social obligations - next year i'm totally fucking off to Thailand for two weeks or something, avoid the whole thing.

on a related note, when people ask me what i'm doing for xmas i like to reply "celebrating the birth of our lord and saviour jesus christ" just to enjoy the momentarily confused look on their faces

I like Christmas as much as I like a summer BBQ, which is a lot. Loads of friends getting together with food and drink, plus you get to give some gifts. What is not to like?

But shopping is horrific. I think all women should have designated shopping friends.

The whole thing is absolutely dreadful. Looks likes we're all on the same page...

I've got two kids at just the right age where Christmas is like a cruel form of torture. We just bought a house in Feb so we're spending our 1st Christmas at home. I'll be on vacation till mid January working on my game, yay!
