Looking to get a new TV...

I'm going to setup a small game room so I don't have all my shit in the main living area. Plan on buying a xbone and maybe watch some movies. What TV do you recommend? I'm looking to spend around $1000. So it looks like I can maybe do a 50-60 inch? Is the 4k worth getting right now? Any suggestions?

Once my house is built I do want a projector in my theater room. So I'm holding out for that.

Although, is a projector good for gaming? Isn't there a lag problem? Or do they have that sorted out by now?
