or, perhaps they only factored in the least amount of time needed to beat a game, ie get the creditroll.
or perhaps it's based on an average of serverstats. or perhaps you could not act like a defensive total mong and just appreciate teh lulz that is steamleft.com.

1002 hours
41 days, 18 hours, 24 minutes.

I've put more than that into just two games. Realistically it would take me much longer as I tend to not hurry through and explore quite a bit.

And that has to be just some average amalgamation math-that-doesn't-matter bollocks, where the average given wouldn't mean smeg to the average person. One could blitz through anything on easy and call it a day, though many get hooked on one title, play for completion or multiplayer. Those that do will skew the hell out of those numbers.

It would take you...
4700 continuous hours
195 days,20 hours,36 minutes
of gameplay to complete your Steam library

Not nearly as bad as I figured.

SteamLeft uses How Long to Beat's crowdsourced averages to estimate a playtime for any Steam library, offering a fairly reasonable argument that maybe we should slow down and spend some of this money on our savings account s instead.

I'd like to think that for every person that sinks 250 hours into a game there is someone who only plays a few because they don't get on with it. Averages are not your enemy :)

Memphis wrote:But aww. I boot you from one Left 4 Dead game for acting a spacker. Vaguely recalling the group ridicule of you being too timid to even speak to us in game. Bless you. That must have burned like a napalm bath to fuel so many years of hate :olo:

Cutting the screen to exclude information is a giggle an' all, 'cos that would have shown how I smashed Max Payne 3 and played a Killing Floor sharp-shooter like a prime alpha god of legend, while you hide all your animé VN collection and 4 furry friends behind a haze of bitter tears and private profile. Clearly as desperate as Fox News hating on muslims and just as hilariously dumb for launching petty-brained attacks based on one's own insecurity.

And the rest of you slags can come hither and swivel on my celestial clam batterer, 'cos I still say 'time-played', 'time to complete' and what-not other 'stats' are still a mostly bullious brand of brown biscuits and that's even prior to murkying up an already muddy pond with stuff like open-world guff that can just as easily waste hundreds of hours as be clocked in 40 minutes flat, with no actual practice or mastery of anything even required. Something like an action adventure title could sure have a fairly accurate estimation of completion time, but applying averages to an entire games catalogue is silly bananas at best. Besides, 'play it on normal and done' gamers, especially critical ones (the one's who like to attach notions of 'value' and 'quality' to their uneducated opinions in their 'reviews' - the "waaah, I suck at Remember Me's combat, therefore the combat is 'bad'" bunch), are a fucking filthy plague.

:)
I like how one simple image sends you into such a frothy tirade. It's ok, maybe one day you'll grow up and realize there's a world outside your cellar door.

Either way, I'm glad you still remember how I stomped you and your e-friends into oblivion 6 years ago in L4D while you were sweating through your chair being a tryhard pro gamer. :olo: Slaughtered :olo:

Far too many hours needed to complete my queue of games. I might be more inclined to visit my library more often is Steam looked like this.

I've spent more hours than that playing a single game in my steam library - Dota2. Memph is right: system is flawed.

It's a cute and rather astute way of getting the point across, but now that we're dabbling in details anyway, what constitutes as "finished" though? How does it know I've finished Bastion but haven't finished Transistor yet?

Lol, i remember that - No Mercy Hospital as i recall :) Mazda thought he'd show us how good he was by running ahead of the rest... and then dying miserably of course - because that's how L4D works, you leave your buddies you die. He'd also use a soundboard and not his mic for communication, which was so infuratingly annoying a kickvote was employed. We finished it with one of our regulars, Durk maybe? And who was number 3, was it Phant?

It wasn't even one of those highly masochistic expert realism runs we got into later as i recall... ah, those were the days eh, we could spend an entire evening on one and actually finishing it with everyone alive always gave me a great sense of accomplishment.

Does that mean it considers a game as "completed" when I've played it for more hours than the crowdsourced average? Doesn't that mean for every game, roughly 50% of the people haven't finished it according to the site?
