Best over ear, earphones

Post by Doombrain »

Given the amount of flying I'm doing now I'd like to get some BT, noise cancelling over ear type gear to kill all the background noise. Tried some Bose in Tokyo and they were great but was so tired I didn't take a note of what they were.

I have also been doing a bit of flying in the last year and as such was inspired to get the David Clark 10 S/DC listen-only headset to drown out the racket at work. They aren't noise-cancelling, but deaden most sounds quite nicely. What may be bothersome is that they do take a bit of breaking in (aka David Clamps), and their sound reproduction seems to be geared more towards crisp speech replication and not that of most music. Still, it's nice to have silence without the constant hiss of ANR.

How will headphones deaden (kill) the little bastard children in the seat behind you that squeal and shriek?

In answer, I fly that little I cannot offer a solution other than the first class option mentioned above so good luck :)

Sennhiser Momentum or AKGK451

Both blew me away - The AKG451 actually ruined music for me for a while they were that good. You get used to them being so sharp and crisp. If you are on a slight budget, look for some UE 9000's for over ears. AKG best bang for buck and, in my opinion, the best all round
