Forza Horizon

Post by Κracus »

If you like an open world with great physics get this one.

I played a shit ton of Forza and Arcade racers and this is a great mashup. It's just realistic enough to make it a challenge and fun yet it keeps the controls slightly light enough for that arcade feeling.

My only gripes are that there's no real players roaming the map while you go through the SP game, all you see are AI racers driving around so you actually have to go in multiplayer mode to just roam around with other people. Finding races is pretty good though and there's a nice variety of cars.

No real people in the single player? Only AI? You have to go into multiplayer to play with other people? Shocking!!!

I thought that too, xer0s!

But yeah, it does look lovely and I have no doubt will be fun. It almost made my list of "want" games but I might snag it when it's £20 instead of full price

I just like being able to interact with other players even though I'm doing my own thing. Dark Souls is a good example of this and games like Test Drive incorporate what I'm talking about really well.

I can't progress in my game when I go into multiplayer so it effectively kills the free roam mode as there's little incentive to play that mode. In the future, I suspect it'll be near impossible to find anyone playing the game in free roam mode so you'll never get those fun cat and mouse chases you only get when randomly encountering another playful racer in an open world game.

Otherwise the MP is fine.
