New car!

Post by ToxicBug »

Hey guys! I finally got a new car to replace my 2002 Sentra :D

I picked up a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR with an intake, Cobb AP, and a full 3" turbo-back exhaust. I imported it from Connecticut. Very happy with it so far. The gas mileage is a bit LOL, but I was actually expecting worse considering the mods :)

Thanks! :D

Well, it has around 360 hp right now. It's not bad, but I definitely would welcome more power. Depends on whether I'm going to stay in Canada for longer than two years or not, since any mods that I do won't really add to its resale value. Right now it killed my budget LOL, most likely no more mods until I can breathe a bit easier :)

If I do decide to mod it though, it will most likely include a bigger turbo. Right now it spools early and boosts well in the mid-range, but it tapers off noticeably at the top. I would be very down to give up some low-end response for more power at the top. Nothing crazy, but just a bit more, I'm assuming like on the FQ-400. I think I would be happy with 400 whp. In either case, we'll see. This is all a long time from now.

Yes a nice set of wheels TB  and a nice bonnet shot too.

Jealous?
Yes, a little :D as I always liked the Lancer range and I am talking the older models :olo:

Just noticed the 'vent' behind the front wheel arch?

Is it trim, decoration or functional?

PS: Silver grey is a lovely colour

Thanks a lot guys!

Whiskey 7, all the vents are functional. Here's a quote from a Mitsubishi press release (I can't find it anymore):
The engine hood air outlet and fender vents effectively exhaust heat from the engine compartment. Together with the engine hood air scoop that supplies cooling air to the turbocharger these elements give vivid accent to Evolution X's exterior looks.
I would've been very surprised and disappointed if they weren't, considering to what lengths Mitsubishi went to make it what it is.

For example, the interior is straight from a Lancer GTS, except for the shifter knob, steering wheel, and front seats (it has special Recaro front seats with airbags). They saved money there. Also, the rear seats don't fold down because they moved the windshield washer tank and battery to the trunk for better weight distribution.

Nice ride!

I wasn't going to make a thread about it, but I'll hijack yours a little. Sold my Z this spring and got a new, fully-loaded C300 4matic. Such a nice car to drive. Loving it.

Nice, those things are quick as standard. so yeah, don't smash it up.

It took some adjustment coming from a manual 350Z but its not a slow car and aside from being auto still feels pretty nimble. Curious to see how it handles the winter.

Thanks guys!

Nice car bitWISE, the new C-class looks amazing! I bet the interior on a loaded C300 is ace, too! I think the 4Matic will be very good in the winter.

Doombrain, I'm actually so happy that I bought an AWD car. It handles very well, the Active Yaw Control is great! There's no drama in the turns under acceleration. I just steer where I want to go and it goes there.

Those Nissans have one of the best sounding motors I've heard.
