First off, kudos for the effort 
But quickly skimming through the tuts, there are 2 things I don't like:
In the "first room" tutorial I see unnecessary overlapping brushes, causing overdraw.
Just teach how brush edges should join and not overlap.
And under "curves", advocate against using endcaps, because they cause sparklies.
