Quake 3 vids

Post by Don Carlos »

Hi guys,

My Mum is moving house and as such, has been cleaning out some of my old stuff. In there was an old CD case in which I have found 12 CDs full of older Quake 3 movies! Now I have checked out own-age.com and a lot of the links for these moveis are dead. Some quality flicks on offer, even found some UT on there!

Anyone want any or anyone have some space to host any? :)

Could be pure gold there don, just keep the UT parts yourself.

Why not post some old titles here or maybe upload them yourself at own-age. (just assuming users can upload there)

If you could upload them to FileFront (or the like), you can add additional download links on the movie profiles at own-age.com.
Another good (streaming) site is own3d.tv, downside there is you can't download the movies.

It's not hard. Just login with an account, click the upload button, point to your video file and the rest goes automatically.

I only think they've got a 10 minute cap on videos and I remember that there were quite a few trickjump videos that exceeded 10 mins. I'm not sure about all that though.

Oh wow, the audio on this video of yours has been disabled because of copyright issues.

That's incredibly sad, really.

I must admit, watching these videos makes me want to play the game and try to create a good video again. But where do I find the time...

lol, I just found out that our old Engines of Creation website is still living somewhere on some kind of mirror. The original PlanetQuake hosted site died long ago. I was able to salvage this old video I made for my clan back in october 2001 from there :D

I also salvaged an old recammed Quake II demo. I'll see if I can get Quake II up and running again and if there's a way to convert that recammed demo to a video file I can upload to the YouTubes.

Below is the clan video I made. Freeze Tag was awesome :D

Yay I got Q2 running again and I've downloaded some sort of modified executable that allows avi output of demos including sound. Tonight I'm gonna mess around and see if I can get it all exported properly with the sound in sync. That's going to be the toughest part I'm afraid...
