been a long time..
hi guys,
i just put quake and gtk on this computer again after a few years of not modelling
for those of you who dont know me..
a link to some pic from previous years...
anywho
heres my issue, and bear with me im rusty.
ive got everything running seems fine enough.. but i put two of my old maps in the baseq3, pn03 and leafland, added them both to the shaderlist.txt
and for some reason within gtk the shaders do not show up, the textures do.
so im out of date.. shaderlist.txt seems fine, radiant is the latest version, quake is fresh install, never have issues with that, and common shaders etc, show up as functional.. so what am i missing.. wy do my hand made shaders from my old maps not work...?
and aloha folk, good to be back, though not sure if im gonna be making actual maps for q3, i will definately be doing some mapping with gtk... ive got some ideas for deco for a rave and wanted to try constructs in 3d to test my stretch fluo fabric designs..

Why hello, welcome back!
What version of GtkRadiant?
Shaders are in baseq3\scripts?
Check shader files for any typos/syntax, these can lead to GtkRadiant not reading the contents of those shaders and any other ones that load in after it.

holy fucking shit.
The man who taught me how to map! I remember working on a ctf map project with you involving two giant tree areas for the bases and a cave system with wolf head entrances. You were frustrated because I wasn't understanding t-juncs and the rocks I made were riddled with overlaps and bad t-juncs XD
I was actually running around pn03 last week wondering what happened to you and admiring the shader effects.
I lost leafland though. Not sure what happened to it.

leafland is still help at mapcenter and map raider if yer hankering for them.. im maybe completely missing all my old map files and stuff from having changed computers a couple times and also from reformating and stuff though im sort of thinking tat possibly they exist burnt on a cd somewhere here.. or at a friends house lol/....

there are a few of my maps i cannot find anywhere.. the gold version of gregypt-ctf1, and well i am sort of wondering if anyone has any old files i might have passed them for review, anything i made from back in the day, much appreciated, map files map files map files lol
and ty foo for the fold to come back to
im noticing now that many of the in game scripts are not showing as outlined either..

okay yup some reason here why this is not working..
ive extracted then entire contents of the two maps pn03 and leafland into the baseq3 so now theres the appropriate folders and even the leafland map file.. ive opened leafland in gtk and only the textures are displaying, the shaders all come up as broken

Can you try another custom level, take some random from Lvl and see what happens?

yep meteof_final added to the shaderlist and the pk3 is in baseq3 and gtk restarted and shaders are not showing for it either

yep q3 with the patch, nothing else. havent even tried playing yet, but im sure itll load.. checking... oops well i avent put in a cd key yet.. and actually tossed the install files so ill have to do that.
but yeah the shaders seem mostly to work in gtk, the one from the game, though some are not working.

I know it's obvious....but which version of GTK are you using? Several versions of 1.5 iirc.

I suspect one of your custom shaders is doing this. It will start loading scripts from the PK3 files, then the separate .shader files, so if you have any sitting around in /scripts, they are loaded last. If one of them has even a syntax error, anything loaded after it will not show up. okay something is odd, ive installed 1.4 and tried something, i dleted all the base_ shaders from the shaderlist.txt and in gtk i chose the dispay shaderlist.txt only and the base_ menu is still there.. this was after closing the app and reopening it, so im confused.. is gtk looking at a shaderlist.txt that is elsewhere? leafland and pno3 and the other still dont show up.. remember im using verified files... so what am i missing?

What OS? Vista needs admin privileges to be set or GTK doesn't play nice. Don't have W7, so no idea about that.

ive installed 1.5 and it does not ave the run as administrator option?!?! hehe grrr.... why is that run as admin is greyed out
