Unreal Tournament 2004 - Model Import?

Post by Bacon »

I hope it's not taboo here :(

I've asked over at a few unreal forums, but I thought I'd see if anyone here knows or mabye knows where I can get started on making player models for ut2004. Not making the models themselves but how to import them and everything else.

I've googled for hours and can't find any tutorials on player models themselves, I can only find tutorials on how to use unrealed to make maps.

Sorry again if this isn't allowed here I know how much hate quake players have for unreal ;)

Thanks

I think UnrealEd accept *.OBJ files for static meshes (but you may re-texture them in editor) and maybe some other objects in else formats for animated meshes with skeletons - simply open model window and click on "import".

You can only use ASE and LWO files for Static Meshes.

As for the player models, you have to find a PSK and PSA exporter.

What modeling program do you use Bacon?

I normally use blender but I can get access to 3dsmax if blender can't achieve this (no maya though)

Katsbits has some good resources for UT modeling (as well as other applications of 3d modeling)

You can find some archived articles if you do a UT search on http://www.katsbits.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi
