I quit smoking.
After 23 years and several attempts, I've finally done it. It's been 1 week without a smoke. I have to thank the people at Chantec for my success. I don't think I would have been able to do it without them.

Re: I quit smoking.
One week doesn't mean you've quit retard. You'll relapse with in a month so fuck off you snobby square.

Would you like to place a bet?
Re: I quit smoking.
I wouldn't really call one week quitting either. My father has "quit" smoking, several times, for over a year, and then relapsed. Granted he smoked for about 40 years. I think he's finally quit now, it's been over 2 years since he last had a puff.
Either way, props to ya... doesn't look easy.

Re: I quit smoking.
When you do not smoke, you've quit. Granted it's only been a week. Though I won't be starting again either. It's obvious to me that I never "really" wanted to quit before. This time I made the extra effort of going to a doctor, getting a prescription, following a program and quitting. There is no reason to go back.
Re: I quit smoking.
There never is, but quite a few do anyway.

23 years of smoking 1 week of not smoking and he thinks he's kicked the habit.

I've quit for more than a year a few times. The urge never really goes away. It does for a while, but it returns often. Been smoking for nearly 30 years.

Pull up idea is a good one - the endorphins released are a great way for you to beat the craving.andyman wrote:Nice, I haven't had one in 3 months. It's kinda tough sometimes but i just do pull ups whenever i want a smoke. the pump fells better...

Re: I quit smoking.
Well, all I can say is that I'm done. Do I still have urges? Yes. Do/Will I act on them? No.
When I'm done, I'm done.
When I'm done, I'm done.
Re: I quit smoking.
Good luck with it, but you're far from out of the woods yet. I've said pretty much that same line a few times. I'm not saying you're doomed to fail, just that I thought I had it kicked a few times myself. Actually, I'm seriously thinking about attempting it again.

He'll say that he wasn't "done" during his other attempts but he is this time.

Re: I quit smoking.
I know what he means tho, it's a pretty common thing among smokers. It's like a social tick that they have, they know its bad for them so they say "I want to quit" but it's a hollow statement. I've heard it from smokers so much and it's bullshit most every time. The people who want to quit, quit.
Re: I quit smoking.
Personally, I would have waited more than a week before making a tit of myself....

I've been "quit" for over five years now, yet I still get urges. I don't act on them, but the temptation is still there.

I think someone that tries to quit smoking, especially after such a long time, deserves a lot of respect. It's really easy, cheap and unfair to crack down on him like some people have been doing. Then again, this is Q3W after all so I could just as well be preaching to a tree instead.
