Mapping Contest

Post by richardq3 »

Hello Folks,

I just got notified of a mapping contest in the q3 1.16 community and got asked to put this up here, seems like a good way for the mapping community to
start a few new map projects.

Here is the original thread on the Noghost Forums: http://forums.noghost.net/cgi-bin/ib/ik ... f=3;t=4632

"Are any of you guys map makers, or aspiring to be one? If I put some cash/prizes up would anyone be interesting in having a map contest?

Free distribution with NoGhost mod. Free publicity!

Here's GTK if you aren't familiar with map building tools:
http://www.filefront.com/14350045/GtkRa ... TCWET.exe/

Rules:
If anyone wants to start now, I'm thinking:
-the map should be able to hold at least 8 players (suitable for 4v4 Teams or 8 players FFA)
-doesn't necessarily have to support a specific gametype, but you are welcome to specify one
-should be indoors
-the contest will be over 4-6 weeks after it starts
-special prizes will be given out at the 2-4 week mark to the map with the best layout so far
-map must be playable on Q3 1.16n
-map must be previously unreleased or a new design

Judging:
-will be done by the community
-judged on gameplay/design, overall looks, creativity, and layout"

Cheers, Richard
