Loss of memory after consumption of alcohol

Post by SplishSplash »

How do I prevent it?

It's been getting worse lately, and yesterday morning I woke up and after I checked myself, I suddenly realized that I had no recollection of Thursday evening at all.

I'm missing 7 (!) hours. :icon28:

Amnesia sounds funny in the movies, but it is scary as shit in real life let me tell you. Especially when you check your cellphone and discover all the calls you made and messages you sent. I don't know for sure yet, but maybe, thursday night may have fucked up my love life (and maybe more) big time.

I won't say "I'll never drink again!", because, come on, that's just not realistic, so what do I do?

I sitll can't remember where 3 hours of my life went about 2 or 3 years ago when I was so very, very, very wasted. I usually remember everything :/

Drinking less is the only thing really, that and spacing drinks out with soft drinks. I had memory loss twice in about 5 years before going on some medication before Christmas, then I had it about 4 or 5 times in a couple of months... so if you're taking anything that's probably the other reason for losing a few hours in a night.

On my 21st, i was properly pissed drunk. I remember the whole night, but what i remember isn't what actually happened. Such as things I remember saying and things i actually said. I've never blacked-out tho

I'm probably not much of a alcohol drinkers compared to you guys, but when I do drink,I'm always totally wasted. BUT I've never had a blackout. Not does my personality chance, I'm well aware that i'm drunk and I'm just the same guy, but drunk.

I once had to hold onto the ground so I wouldn't "fly" away one night. The next morning I also had to hold onto the toilent so I wouldn't fall in.

lol. Mine was at about 16, after 1 litere of vodka, half a litre of some 20% stuff a mate bought and didn't like and a few coctail sips / beer. And god knows what else, too.

Oh.. and some dodgy Greek Ouzo that we think had gone off because everyone who had some was so very ill.

I can't drink vodka anymore :D

lol, i cant drink straight cider anymore (although i didnt didnt particualry like it in the 1st place) but now the smell of cider makes me heev...

the only reason why i remember the 9 ltrs is because i bought 3 3ltrs bottles of frosty jacks (7.5%) for me and my mates but when i turned up they already had theres so i had them instead... when we were in the pub i remember having a few bottles of hooch, vodka n coke and a few pints of lager but once the 9 ltrs were up i knew the next day was gunna be spent in bed

oooo yer and a bottle of 20/20

ahhh the old days were the best

white lighting
lambrini
20/20
thunderbird
frosty jacks
strongbow
prince consort wisky

then spend the rest of the night on the street corner singing :D

I've only not remembered my evening twice. Both times I consumed alot of hard liquor.

I suppose if it is happening often, just tone down the amount you drink. If you can't do that, then I suggest going out the bars less.

Only happened once for me, and the blackout time itself was only about an hour or so. I was incredibly drunk, but got into a fight with a 'friend' and took a hit to the jaw which is what I think caused the brief lapse of memory. That was a few years ago, and I know my limit now :)
